Pipeline Protection Bill

In the political boundaries of Michigan, a house bill continues to resurface- even after being defeated twice in the recent past. The bill (HB 4540) if past would exempt “critical energy infrastructure” from things like FOIA requests, disclosure of safety issues, or anything else that is important for someone living near a pipeline or power plant to know about.

While many people would rather piss in the wind than write a letter encouraging the governing forces to do anything, house bills like this have been rejected in the past. Please follow the link to the Michigan League of Conservation Voters website where they have provided information about HB 4540 as well as a letter template you can use to let your representative, or a friends representative, know that you encourage their opposition to this legislative effort.
